About Us
Little Village is an independent, filmmaker-led production company founded by Campbell Brewer and Kathryn Francis.
We started Little Village because we wanted to make films differently: with tight-knit teams of talented people, a lot of trust, and enough curiosity to follow a good idea somewhere unexpected.
Over the years, that has taken us from farms in California to mountains in Chile, across oceans, into factories, homes, workshops and plenty of places well beyond cell service.
We’ve made commercials, documentaries and ad campaigns for brands including Patagonia, Levi’s, Airbnb, New Balance, Rab and Siggi’s, alongside films for organizations working on issues we care deeply about, including Blue Marine Foundation, NRDC, Conservation International and The Nature Conservancy.
Our approach changes with the job. Sometimes that means a tiny documentary crew living alongside our subjects. Sometimes it means a large commercial production. What stays the same is the attention we give to the people, the story and the filmmaking.
Today, Little Village works directly with brands and creative teams from early development through production and post, while continuing to make films of our own.
We’re based in Venice, California. We work wherever the story takes us.

How We Work
The best projects don’t always arrive fully formed. Sometimes there’s a finished brief, boards, animatics, or a script. Sometimes there’s only a character, a product, a place or simply the beginning of an idea.
We like joining the conversation early and building the right process around the project.
We help uncover the story and shape the creative approach before the cameras roll. That might mean developing an early idea, finding the right characters, exploring a visual language or figuring out what the film is really about. And sometimes that just means a small tweak to already fantastic writing.
The goal is always the same: find the beating heart of the piece.
Every project asks for something different.
One might call for a tiny documentary crew living alongside our subjects. Another might require a larger commercial production with dozens of collaborators.
We build the team and production around the idea, rather than forcing the idea into a particular way of working.
We believe a film is often discovered twice: once while making it and again in the edit.
We work closely through picture edit, sound, color and finishing, carrying the original idea through to the final frame while leaving room for the story to become something better along the way.

Want to collaborate?
We’re always down to talk—whether you’re a brand with a story to tell or a filmmaker with a dream to build. Let’s make something great.
